硬脂酸锌呈白色轻质细微粉末状，自燃点达 900℃，密度为 1.095，熔点为 120℃。其具有良好的润滑感，不溶于水、乙醇和乙醚，却能溶于热乙醇、松节油、苯等有机溶剂以及酸。硬脂酸锌在有机溶剂中加热溶解后，遇冷会成为胶状物，若遇强酸则会分解为硬脂酸和相应的锌盐。该物质无毒，但具有轻微刺激性。
Zinc stearate is in the form of white, lightweight and fine powder. Its self-ignition point reaches 900°C, its density is 1.095 and its melting point is 120°C. It has a good sense of lubrication and is insoluble in water, ethanol and ether, but soluble in organic solvents such as hot ethanol, turpentine and benzene, as well as acids. After being heated and dissolved in an organic solvent, zinc stearate will become a gel-like substance when cooled. If it encounters strong acids, it will decompose into stearic acid and the corresponding zinc salt. This substance is non-toxic but slightly irritating.

用途Application
硬脂酸锌用作聚氯乙烯稳定剂。与钡-镉皂配合，主要用于软质制品，特点是能抑制初期着色，避免硫化污染。硬脂酸锌还可用作苯乙烯系（聚苯乙烯和ABS、EVA），酚醛树脂、氨基树脂等热固化塑料及聚酯的增塑剂，透明制品的润滑剂和脱模剂。在橡胶工业中，用作胶料的润滑剂和防粘剂，硫化催媒的活化剂。还可作纺织品的打光剂，油漆及搪瓷的平光剂。亦作化妆品的配料，用于粉类化妆品可增加粘附性和润滑性。
Zinc stearate is used as a stabilizer for polyvinyl chloride. When combined with barium-cadmium soap, it is mainly used in soft products. The characteristic is that it can inhibit initial coloring and avoid vulcanization pollution. Zinc stearate can also be used as a plasticizer for styrene-based (polystyrene and ABS, EVA), phenolic resin, amino resin and other thermosetting plastics and polyester, and as a lubricant and mold release agent for transparent products. In the rubber industry, it is used as a lubricant and anti-sticking agent for rubber compounds, and as an activator for vulcanization catalysts. It can also be used as a polishing agent for textiles, and a flattening agent for paints and enamels. It is also an ingredient in cosmetics. When used in powder cosmetics, it can increase adhesion and lubrication.
